This is my very first tattoo that I just recently got. My homie Mike from Escondido, California did it for me. He is the most talented person I know and he free handed this.
The story behind my tattoo:
Just recently this year my grandma passed away. She lived with my family and me for the last two months of her life n boy let me tell you, those were tough months. I remember holding her hand and feeding her dinner every night since she was bed fast. Every night, I would remember the stories she had told me as a little girl and how beautiful she thought I was. She was always obsessed with torquoise and so am I. Her name was Helen and she had bright blond hair with deep blue eyes. Always called me blondie and she would always tell me how beautiful and strong I am. She was the strongest and most passionate woman I knew. She’d been beaten by ex-husbands and she lived alone for more than half of her life, but her faith continued to stay strong all through out her life.
The main reason why I decided to get this done was because of my deep love for the ocean. I have always been a beach bum ever since I was young and I have always been drawn to the water. Just recently I learned I don’t need a significant other in my life. I need to fall in love with myself before I fall in love with another person. This tattoo gives me hope for my future and hope for this corrupt world. There is a light that never goes out, and I carry that light with me always. Even in my darkest days, when it feels like everything is crashin’ down.. I can always be brightened by love and the things I are gifted with on this earth.
Everyone is guilty of forgetting about the little things in life that we are so lucky to have. Take a moment and look up at the beautiful sky and breath in the air. We are so lucky we are alive, now lets make a change.
